Late Friday night, we SCORED A HUGE VICTORY for dogs in New York when the State Senate passed S.3753, the bill that gives local governments the authority to crack down on puppy mills. As soon as Governor Cuomo raises his paw and signs the bill into law, local municipalities will have the power to boot these abusive pet dealers out of town.
NYCLASS passed our first ever statewide bill because of you — your calls and letters made the difference in this win!

This final push to pass the bill was so successful we had staffers from Albany begging us to stop the calls. You made that happen. I’m so proud to be a part of this movement with you.
But we cannot rest on this victory alone — we have so many big fights ahead of us: defeating animal-hater Christine Quinn, banning horse carriages and electing pro-animal candidates to City Council. We can only do that if you help fuel this grassroots organization over the next year.

With every victory our movement to save the animals of New York becomes stronger and more respected. Now the politicians in this state can no longer ignore our collective voice.
Thank you for being an ANIMAL HERO. Thank you for helping to save these dogs from a life of misery.
