Right now, Queens and the Bronx don't have full-service animal shelters. If someone from either borough wants to adopt a pet, they need to travel to Manhattan, Brooklyn or Staten Island. Those shelters are already stretched beyond their means with homeless animals, leading to the euthanasia of otherwise healthy pets.
But a City Council bill, Intro 485, will change that by requiring the city to open shelters in the Bronx and Queens. Sign our petition to say that we need animal shelters in all five boroughs!
