Join NYCLASS, Actor Edie Falco, PETA, NY Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, and others for a Virtual Rally and Press Conference Monday, Feb 28 at 11am to END the $230 MILLION yearly in tax subsidies propping up the abusive and deadly horse racing industry in New York and redirect that money to fund education and help New Yorkers in need!
After the Virtual Rally we have meetings scheduled with lawmakers, urging them to co-sponsor and pass the package of bills to end horse racing subsidies and tax breaks. If you would like to join us in these meetings, be sure to answer the last question in this form, confirming that you want to attend the meetings.
Over the past 12 years, over 1,600 horses have died at NY racetracks - an average of over 130 every year. From doping to broken bones to slaughter, the heavily subsidized horse racing industry has a long history of corrupt and deadly practices. This legislative package will end the most egregious giveaways for wealthy horse owners and take the industry off the corporate welfare rolls.
Please sign up here to join us Monday at 11am with Edie Falco to show the media and NY lawmakers that New Yorkers want an END to corporate welfare for animal abuse!
