Thank 'Em

Tuesday was the first day that the New York City Council met to vote on legislation — and do you know what their very first move was? To unanimously override ex-Mayor Bloomberg’s veto of the city-wide registry for animal abusers! This is a step forward towards a more humane NYC.

The law will require any person convicted of animal abuse to be listed on the registry, and prohibits them from adopting or purchasing pets in the future. This victory demonstrates that it's a new day for our City Council Members.

Such an incredible step forward cannot go unnoticed. These pro-animal elected officials need to hear a big "THANKS" from humane voters like you so they continue doing the right thing. This way, we'll keep the momentum going so we can finally ban the sale of puppy mill dogs, reform our city's animal shelters, protect a tenant's right to have a pet, and of course -- end the inhumane carriage horse industry and place the horses in loving adoption homes.

Thank your City Council Member today >>

What a difference Mayor Bill de Blasio and Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito are making already vs the old Bloomberg/Quinn administration. Think about that for a second.

For a more humane New York,

Chelsie Schadt
