Four decades ago, the New York Blood Center (NYBC) entered into a join research project with a lab in Liberia, using dozens of chimpanzees. When the research ended 10 years ago, the chimps were set free on local islands and the New York Blood Center committed to paying for any care they needed. Now they’ve backed out of that agreement and abandoned that commitment, leaving the burden to animal advocates to fund their care.
Join us in a protest outside of the Weill Cornell Medicine on to remind NYBC of it's promise to provide these chimps with lifelong care. Please RSVP below.
