Days after the Times published a story about City Council Speaker Christine Quinn's loud dressings down of subordinates and perceived opponents, a group that has unsuccessfully lobbied Quinn to ban horse-drawn carriages posted a parody site called BulliesForQuinn.

A lead organizer and spokeswoman for the group said the speaker has rebuffed their call to replace horse-drawn carriages with "electric vintage-replica tour cars."
"We've tried every possible thing we've could with this woman," said NYCLASS' Allie Feldman. "She is what she is. A bully."
But Quinn and her campaign has embraced Quinn's outsize personality as a positive attribute. She's better known than her rivals and easy to recognize. The Times story, which was packed with unflattering detail, but whose takeaway for many readers will simply be Quinn is an assertive lady, won't do anything to lessen the speaker's pronounced advantage over her opponents in name recognition.
