NYCLASS and Other Animal Rights Activists Protest to Mark One Year Since Mysterious Carriage Horse Disappearance
What: Today, protestits will gather at the corner of Central Park South and 7th Ave to mark the one year anniversary of the carriage horse Ceasar going missing. The horse's driver, Frank Luo, was busted for falsifying records to force the 22-year-old Caesar to continue working despite old age and respiratory problems. Shortly after the driver was caught trying to switch the hoof identification with another horse nearly half its age, Ceasar was suspiciously shipped out of town. Luo's checkered history also includes a dangerous horse carriage accident and citations for overcharging riders.
NYCLASS and other animal rights groups will call for Luo to be immediately banned from the horse carriage industry and rally in support of Mayor de Blasio’s legislation to ban horse carriages in New York City.
Where: Central Park South & 7th Avenue
