Lobbying for Animals 101

Think only professional lobbyists can lobby for animal protection laws? Think again! NYCLASS is pleased to offer a Lobby Day training for you next week!

We are partnering with the Humane Society of the United States for a free seminar to teach all the tools and techniques you need to be a successful citizen lobbyist for animals. You'll learn how a bill becomes a law, what influences a legislator and what animal-related bills and issues we expect to be considered in 2013.

You can RSVP for the Lobbying 101 session HERE
WHEN: Tuesday, March 5, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
WHERE: Animal Haven - 251 Centre St, Manhattan (Soho)

The carriage horses remain the central issue for NYCLASS, but this seminar will cover a range of legislation affecting many species of animals, and teach you how to lobby for a ban on puppy mills, shark finning, pig gestation crates, hunting and tail docking. (After attending this training, you can put these skills to the test on Wednesday, April 17th, when NYCLASS joins humane advocates from all over the state for the New York State Humane Lobby Day in Albany.)

Sign up for the Lobbying 101 now and reserve your spot.

Even if you have attended one of our grassroots meetings in the past, join us again to refresh your skills, have fun and meet other local animal advocates. Don’t forget to invite your friends and family! Attend this free seminar and gather all the tools and techniques you need to be a successful citizen lobbyist.
