We knew Lea Michele loves animals. The "Glee" star and vegan has spoken out against New York City's carriage horse industry with PETA and NYCLASS among other efforts. Now, Michele opens up about her animal activism.
The actress told People about how she got started with her work for animals by contacting PETA. "I was just living in New York and went onto their website one day and said I would like to help and they contacted me. The point is that anyone can do it. I have such a passion because I adore animals so much."
She has even helped fellow "Glee" stars Heather Morris and Harry Shum with their animal companions.
Michele has a cat named Sheila, and the actress says she's perfectly happy spending time at home with her buddy. "Do I have a wild side? Well, I do have 14 tattoos. But I also do come home every single night and watch reality TV with my cat. I'd say for the most part I'm a very outgoing person. I have a lot of energy. I love being around people. But I'm not wild in the sense of ‘going out' wild."
