There is so much to celebrate with the General Election results! We know that you care about animals and you VOTE! We are thrilled that our endorsed candidates for President and Vice-President - Joe Biden and Kamala Harris - have won their historic election! We are excited to work towards greater protections for animals and the environment on a national level with this new administration. Barriers have been broken in a big way. Kamala Harris makes history as the first woman, and woman of color, to be elected Vice-President - something we can all cheer!
Another first we are cheering is that President-elect Joe Biden's German shepherd Major, will make history as the first rescue dog to live in the White House. The Biden's adopted Major in 2018 from the Delaware Humane Association, 10 years after welcoming their first German shepherd Champ. This brings "Adopt Don't Shop" to a whole new level!
New York General Election Results
We congratulate our endorsed animal rights candidates in the New York State Senate, New York State Assembly and Congress for their victories, and we thank all our supporters who voted for them and volunteered and got out the vote for them! We look forward to working with each and every one of them to continue making New York a more compassionate and just state for all residents - two-legged and four-legged! These victories are so important because in order to change the world, and laws, for animals - we must elect pro-animal rights candidates into office.
Congratulations to: Jabari Brisport, Harvey Epstein, Emily Gallagher, Michael Gianaris, Jessica González-Rojas. Liz Krueger, Jerry Nadler, Jessica Ramos, Linda Rosenthal, Luis Sepúlveda, Ritchie Torres, and Dan Quart!
NYCLASS will keep working every day for a kinder world for ALL - and we can only do that with your continued support. Today we celebrate these animal rights victories, but the work continues each and every day to end animal abuse and gain legal protections for our furry, feathered, and finned friends! We are on this journey with you, and for that we are forever grateful!
For the animals,
Executive Director, NYCLASS
