UPDATE FROM THE ORGANIZER, DONNY MOSS:
THE WEATHER FORECAST IS LOUSY ON SATURDAY, SO WE ARE POSTPONING THE SUMMIT PROTEST UNTIL SUNDAY, JULY 10 AT 4:30PM. I hope you can still make it! Please let me know if you have any questions. -Donny Moss, theirturn.net [email protected]
Astonishingly, #MetLife, a company that prides itself on "corporate social responsibility" continues to ignore the pleas of tens of thousands of people worldwide who have asked them to hold the NY Blood Center accountable for abandoning 66 chimps with no food or water on islands in Liberia. MetLife, which is the NYBC's largest corporate donor and partner, has an NYBC donation center in its global headquarters.
The CEO of MetLife, Steven Kandarian, lives in Summit, N.J. Please join TheirTurn, NYCLASS and Animals Batallion for a march to Mr. Kandarian's home from the the Summit train station (we will gather at the Starbucks across the street from the station). His home is less than a mile from the Starbucks. We will then walk back to Summit and march through town, chanting and distributing handouts about Mr. Kandarian, MetLife and the abandoned chimps. Summit has many restaurants with outdoor seating, so we will have a captive audience.

The organizers will provide maps, handouts and posters, though please feel free to bring your own poster.
If you are traveling from Penn Station to Summit, please take the 3:11 p.m. train. It arrives at 4:08. We will meet under the big board with the train schedule in the NJ Transit/Amtrak waiting area. We will hold up a sign. If you don't see us, take the train and meet at the Starbucks across from the train station.

Meet here in Penn Station to take the 3:11 PM train - under the schedule board in the NJ Transit/Amtrak area
Trains returning to NYC leave 42 minutes after every hour (6:42 p.m., 7:42 p.m., etc). Roundtrip ticket is $19.50. If you are driving, you will find plenty of parking at and near the train station.
As July 9th approaches, we will post more details, including a phone number if you are running late and need to catch up.
