Carriage horse takes off, injures two tourists

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Two tourists were about to go for a carriage ride when the horse broke free and took off.

Two tourists were about to go for a carriage ride when the horse broke free and took off.

It happened at 59th Street and 9th Avenue around 4:20 p.m. on Thursday.

The Australian tourists were sitting in the carriage and the operator tried to step inside the carriage, and that's when the horse took off.

The carriage operator tried but could not grab the horse.

The tourists were taken to St. Luke's Hospital with minor injuries.

The horse was captured a short distance away.

It happened at 59th Street and 9th Avenue around 4:20 p.m. on Thursday.
