Every elementary school must provide instruction in the humane treatment and protection of animals but this law has not been enforced. More than 30 City Council Members, led by Danny Dromm, are asking Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña to make sure our children learn empathy and compassion toward animals, people and the environment by fully implementing humane education in elementary schools city-wide.
