Our goal was 300 members for our first go-round. Instead, we have 652.
Our goal was to raise $10,000 towards our campaign efforts. Instead, we raised over $21,000.
Our goal was to elect Donovan Richards to City council as a pro-animal candidate. WE WON. BY 79 VOTES.
Holy horse. THANK YOU!
This wouldn’t be possible without YOU. Thank you for being a voice for the horses, thank you for supporting our efforts to change New York City in 2013. The month of February shows that we are ready to take on the city’s Mayoral & City Council elections – we have dedicated card-carrying members! We have activists willing to donate for our efforts! We have enthusiastic volunteers willing to not only educate tourists but knock doors and push pro-animal voters to the polls on Election Day. AND IT’S WORKING.
Donovan’s victory is just the beginning, but it’s a darn good start. Next, we set out to unseat elected officials who don’t support humane legislation, and campaign our tails off for the good ones who do.
Thank you for embarking on this adventure with us, and thanks for being a Horse Hero!
And, (not quite) as promised, we send you air kisses:
Allie Feldman, NYCLASS
P.S. An extra special thank you goes out to the amazing and incredible Kathy Najimy, Head Horse Hero and a true champion! (especially for preventing me from turning into a pumpkin!)
