Early this evening, carriage horse operations were suspended due to inclement weather. New Yorkers for Clean, Livable and Safe Streets (NYCLASS) has just learned that following this suspension, another accident has occurred involving a horse carriage by 41st Street and 11th Avenue. The horse fell in the street, and the carriage had to be pulled off the horse, taking up two lanes of traffic. NYPD reported to the scene. Lead Organizer Allie Feldman exclaimed, “How many images of injured horses on New York City streets do we need to see in order to take action and stop this abusive treatment? We at NYCLASS call on the City Council and the Speaker to stand up and take unified action to immediately pass legislation before another accident happens, before another horse is hurt.”
