VOTE for horses!
Sandy's devastation has hit very close to home for so many of us, and just a week after the storm, there is still so much recovery work to be done. With so much on our minds right now, we just wanted to remind you that tomorrow, Tuesday, November 6, is Election Day. As voters and animal lovers, we urge you to find the time to cast your ballot tomorrow.
This year, NYCLASS is thrilled to be publicly endorsing two animal-loving candidates -- and we're so excited about this new endeavor to put pro-animal rights candidates in office! We know that the path to victory for the carriage horses lies in electing people who share our views.
To that end, if you live in South Brooklyn or Staten Island, we encourage you to cast your vote to re-elect State Senator Diane Savino.
If you live in the Bronx, there is a special election for City Council. NYCLASS has endorsed Andy King as a the horse hero favorite in that race.
Consider it part of your recovery duties – putting in place leadership that will help New York rebuild into a better city, as well as one that no longer offers horse carriage rides! (Fortunately, the horses were suspended during the storm, but that meant being cooped up in their barn all week, with scary weather to boot, and no room to graze or socialize.) Sandy has opened New Yorker’s eyes to much in the past few days. Now is the time to get out there and say something about it through our votes.
Take the time to cast your ballot tomorrow – find your polling place HERE, or text "WHERE" or "NYCVOTES" to 877877.
Together, we will rebuild a better and more humane New York.
Sincerely,
