It was a frightening journey for two people looking to take a carriage through Central Park.

Witnesses told NY1 that a carriage horse got spooked inside the park and started acting wild.

The driver of the carriage was bucked off, according to witnesses, and the horse took off towards 60th Street with passengers in tow.

Witnesses said the horse then hit a parked car.

At some point, the two passengers were ejected from the carriage.

Free from the carriage, the horse made it all the way to 57th Street and Ninth Avenue before getting cornered by police, according to witnesses.

"All of a sudden, it sounded like a car crash," said one witness. "I turned around and all I saw was a horse going wild with the carriage attached to it and two people were sitting in the carriage. The horse was just going crazy. There was no driver."

"We saw the carriage hit the town car," said another witness. "And the horse just kept running like he was frightened."

The carriage passengers were taken to the hospital. There is no word on their injuries.

The horse suffered an injury to its side and a bloody nose.
